One of the single greatest risks for the success of Cross-Country Ski de fond Canada over the long-term is the retention of athletes through the development pathway, especially between the ages of 16 to 23. Based on information collected from surveys and interviews, one of the reasons athletes are leaving the sport is their desire to pursue post-secondary education. As a means to investigate solutions that will facilitate the retention of athletes, the CCC Board has created a new committee – The Education Committee.
